The Grand Haven Steelheaders are sponsoring a Big Fish Contest on
Friday, June 4, 2010

I. ELIGIBILITY
A. Open to any fishing team willing to abide by Tournament/Contest rules, Michigan D.N.R. regulations and payment of entry fees. This tournament is open to participants in the Ladies and Kids Tournament and
the Offshore Challenge Tournament.
II. ENTRY FEES
A. Entry fee is $30 per boat pre-registration,    $40 registration after May 14, 2010.
 III. SCORING
A. Awards will be made for first, second and third place (min. 30 entries). First place only if 15-29 entries.
B. Winners will be determined by weight of fish.
C. One fish per registered boat may be entered for the GH Steelheaders Big Fish Contest
D. The following species shall be eligible:
 Chinook Salmon, Lake Trout, Atlantic Salmon, Pink Salmon, Coho Salmon, Brown Trout, Steelhead
IV. WEIGH -IN
A. For all participants in the Grand Haven Steelheaders Big Fish Contest, the weigh-in will take place at the Grand Haven Waterfront Stadium, site of the weigh-in for the Grand Haven Offshore Challenge. Representatives of the Grand Haven Steelheaders will be present to verify registered contestants and weights.
V. DATES AND HOURS
A. The Contest fishing date is Friday, June 4, 2010
B. Contest Schedule:
    1. Thursday, June 3, late registration can be done at the Captains’ meeting.
    2. Friday, June 4, 2010
        6:30 A.M. – Begin fishing
        12:30 P.M.  - All boats must be inside the Grand Haven pier head.
VI. AWARDS
Awards will be cash prizes: If a minimum of 30 entries:  First Place: $300, Second Place: $200 and
Third place: $100.  If  15 – 29 entries, only First Place payout of $300.
Awards will immediately follow completion/weigh-in of Women and Kids Tournament.
VII. START & FINISH
A. Tournament control will start and end the Tournament/Contest by radio  on channel 06 FM.
B. Once the fishing period is declared closed by Tournament control no more fish may be boated. All boats most proceed directly to the designated weigh-in station. Alternate fishing times may be established by Tournament control when conditions so dictate.
VIII. FISHING RULES
A. Boundaries –for 2010 the boundaries will be: for the North - Little Sable Point  43`64200
South – Saugatuck Pier 42`41000; West  - State Line – Long 87 degree 00’ 00” W

$30.00 per boat contest fee (registration received by May 14, 2010)
$40.00 per boat contest fee if registering after May 14 or at the captain’s meeting on June 3.
